"SHOP" AT OUR HELP CLOSET

Housed in the Samaritan Center Annex at 11457 Shoemaker Street in Detroit, For The Seventh Generation's Help Closet is a free “department store” where Detroit-area foster care workers can “shop” for a wide range of new/gently-used, donated items for the children and families in their care. At least twice a year, we also open the Help Closet directly to foster parents during “Family Days.”
The Help Closet stocks anything and everything you can think of: age-appropriate clothing, luggage, school backpacks and other school supplies, computers, household items, … if you need it to raise a child, we try to have it on hand for our area's foster children and foster families.
Child welfare professionals can "shop" at the Help Closet during our hours of operation: Monday 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM; Tuesday 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM.
Or to make an appointment for your self or your clients outside of the Help Closet's business hours, email Help Closet Coordinator Sherryl Ausbrooks.
