Thanks to the energy of several volunteers and the fantastic music of Ellen Keyt and Deb Fedon, we had a turnout of at least two hundred people and were able to raise at least $2500 to provide music lessons to foster children during the kickoff of our Barnes & Noble Book Fair in Grosse Pointe on Saturday, Dec. 1.
All I can say is, “Wow!” It was definitely a high-energy event. Ellen and Deb kept us moving with with their excellent music, while our awesome volunteer gift wrappers made sure every outgoing present was dressed up and ready for the tree.
I’d like to take just a moment to thank everyone who made this event such a great success. Thanks to our volunteers and the generous people who came out to support us we’re well on our way to providing instruments and free music lessons to our first twenty foster kids.
We’re still waiting for the total tally for the entire Book Fair, which lasted online through December 6. Thanks to Barnes & Noble, our volunteers, and the people who chose to help foster children with their Christmas budget, we’re in great shape for 2013!
